Terms of Service

Last updated 12 July 2026

These are the terms for using ScribeFace. We have tried to write them so you can actually read them.

What ScribeFace does

ScribeFace transcribes speech into text, in real time, on iPhone and Mac. It sends audio to our servers, which use OpenAI's Whisper model to transcribe it. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is sent and what is kept.

Your account

You need an account to use ScribeFace. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app at any time.

What you can and can't do

Don't use ScribeFace to:

Your transcripts are yours

You own what you record and what ScribeFace transcribes from it. We claim no rights over your content. Transcripts are stored on your device, not on our servers.

Accuracy

Speech recognition makes mistakes — with names, jargon, accents, crosstalk, and background noise especially. ScribeFace's output is not guaranteed to be accurate, and should not be relied on where accuracy is critical (legal, medical, or safety contexts, for instance) without a human checking it. Transcripts are editable for exactly this reason.

The service can change or break

We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of ScribeFace. It depends on services we don't control (notably OpenAI), and it may occasionally be unavailable. The service is provided "as is", without warranties. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending it

You can stop using ScribeFace and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
